Welcome to The Mizzen Mast

The Mizzen Mast opened in Rehoboth Beach in 1975 and in 1981 moved to the Village by the Sea on Rehoboth Avenue. Our long time customers remember us for sea shells, brass and nautical decor. Through the years, while our product lines have been influenced by changes in attitude and changes in latitude, our commitment to our customers remains the same.

In 1986, when we enlarged our current location, we became one of the first retailers in the nation to sell Jimmy Buffett's Caribbean Soul now Goin' Coastal and the first in the state of Delaware to sell Birkenstock footprint sandals. Those lines were the result of a trip to Key West, Florida. Subsequent travels to Key West and throughout the Caribbean have influenced the growth and direction of our stores. In recent years, a new addition to the family, who was born and raised on the beautiful South Pacific island of Bali has helped extend our search for new, exciting and hand crafted products from paradise.

Just for fun we have included a small sampling of original beach music featuring, in addition to Jimmy Buffett, some of the finest songwriters and performers on the burn-and-peel circuit.
